We found out a bit ago that our second SDA appointment will be on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.
We are disappointed, to say the least. Were we Stateside, we wouldn't mind waiting, but being here and having to wait so long is so hard, mainly because we are so bored.
Here is what we do everyday. Get up, eat breakfast and feed Cavin breakfast. I normally play on the computer and we watch a bit of tv. Then we get showered and get ready to go out. We typically eat lunch out and go for a brief walk. Most days we need a little something so we stop by the small grocery store to get a loaf of bread or a bottle of milk or something of the sort. It is really cold so we feel bad keeping Cavin out any longer than we have too. Our walk and lunch normally takes an hour or two. Then we come back to the apartment where we sit around and basically do nothing the rest of the night until its time to go to bed.
We are literally bored out of our minds, which makes waiting so much harder. It is also really hard on Matt knowing he is away from work when nothing is happening, and that this is taking so much longer than we had hoped.
We were so hoping and praying for the adoption to take the shortest time frame possible, when we're looking at being lucky at having it completed in the longest time frame we were considering.
So, we're now looking at at least 5 more days of nothingness. We could use your prayers, to say the least. If you have any suggestions of something we could to to pass the time, that would be welcome as well.

ReplyDeleteYou are definately in our prayers and thoughts. Years ago Tony and I found ourselves stranded in Calcutta, India for 5 days after visiting with a child we sponsored. Just before we boarded the plane we picked up 2 bottles of water, a bag of M&M's and a small bag of Goldfish crackers. Just before we landed in India the airlines handed out packs of cards to each passenger. It was God's blessing that we had these items with us. Our first breakfast offered eggs that were grey and turned out stomachs and after that we didn't trust the food at all. We rationed out the crackers and M&M's over the next 5 days and used the water very sparingly. We were stuck in our room due to the fog being so bad we couldn't breathe outside at all and even the lobby was full of smog from the doors opening adn closing. The one time we tried we were swarmed with huge black birds. The two decks of cards were the only thing that kept us sane during those days of waiting. We weren't really card players then and still laugh at how it worked out. God had blessed us. I am praying you will find something just as memorable to fill your time of waiting and these days will be looked back on as a time of waiting on the Lord to do in your lives what you are trusting him to do. This was about the age we started playing hide and seek with Jacob. One of the parents hid, and the other took Jacob around to seek. Then one parent hid with Jacob and the other parent had to seek. It was so entertaining. Especially when Jacob was in the hide group. The seeker would say "I wonder where Jacob is" then Jacob without fail would yell "Here I am". It took a while for him to get the just of the game but none the less we had a blast playing. Maybe you can put your own twist on the game and have some fun. We and the boys continue to include you in our prayers. I know God is listening, and it also helps us feel connected to you and your journey.
